03.02.10 - Spring Photography
Sunny and warm weather (dare I say spring-like?) has returned to the frozen north we call home and what better way to commemorate the start of a new season than with a spring photography tour? Roger and Debbie will be packing up their bags and heading out in a few days to shoot projects near Big Sky, MT.
Soon after, they will be heading down to Florida with a shooting schedule that has them traveling through Georgia, Tennessee, and North Carolina by the end of April. There is still room in the itinerary for additional southeastern locations so if you have any projects that you'd like to have photographed, please contact Debbie ASAP at 800-507-6437.
Renewal and growth lay just around the corner and we hope to see everyone emerging strong and prosperous from winter's hibernation in 2010!
08.19.09 - Pacific NW Photography
The summer months in the Flathead Valley are something special indeed. We have been enjoying the great opportunities for recreating while working close to home throughout the summer months. But the end of summer always signals change, and our itineraries are taking us further afield. Just like the days of "going back to school" or "getting the firewood in", there is an excitement building as we plan our upcoming photo tours. On the 22nd of August, Roger and Debbie are packing up and heading to the Pacific Northwest for several weeks of shooting. The trip will begin in the San Juan Islands of Washington and then continue down towards the greater Seattle area where a couple more projects await them for a longtime builder client. After that, an Architectural Digest shoot will take them to downtown Seattle for a taste of the urban life (and oysters!). Then Roger and Debbie are heading north, just over the border, to Abbotsford, B.C. and then up into the interior for a couple of days of shooting in Kamloops.
Back by Labor Day for cookouts with friends and family and some quick r&r, Roger and Debbie will be venturing out again soon after for some southern Montana and Jackson, Wyoming shooting. We still have some open days available for projects located in the Northwest from mid-September until early October, before our annual Eastern photo tour kicks off. So be sure to call us if there is anything that we can do for you here in the west prior to mid-October. We'll have more information about our trip to the East as we get closer to October, but as usual, we will be starting in the Northeastern states and head South before ending up in Florida. Please let us know of any projects in these areas that you would like photographed so we can work you into our itinerary. From everyone here at Roger Wade Studio, we hope your summer has been great and we look forward to seeing you this Fall!
03.06.09 - 2009 Travel Itinerary
We have recently added a new page to our website called Upcoming Locations. The page contains a list of anticipated and pending locations where we will be photographing throughout the year. It will be regularily updated as we receive new assignment photography and firm up our shooting schedule. Please call or email us as soon as possible if you have a project and need architectural photos so we can schedule you into our photography plans.
02.17.09 - Spring Photography
This time of year there is a certain percentage of the population that is aching for the warmth, sunshine and renewal that spring promises. The gray, bleak winter simply cannot end soon enough. At the same time, there is another group of people that refuse to let winter die, praying incessantly to the gods of their choosing for just one more snowstorm and one more powder day. Whether you share the sentiments of the former group or the latter, whether you are ambivalent or apathetic to the whims of Mother Nature, one thing is for sure: it is time to start thinking about your spring photography shoots.
The current state of our economy is making marketing more important than ever and as the saying goes, "a picture speaks a thousand words". As usual, Roger and Debbie are planning a southeastern photo tour of architectural and interior photography this spring. Please contact us if you have projects in Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee, Virginia, or Kentucky that you are interested in having photographed. Debbie will be contacting clients shortly to start building an itinerary for the month of April. We will also be photographing in Colorado and Wyoming in June and we look forward to being of service to our clients in that region as well.
02.10.09 - New Blog Launched
We have been putting lots of effort into developing a blog for our website and it is now up and running! Our intent for this new feature is to provide clients and contacts with information regarding various aspects about our business and the architecture photography industry in a fun and informal manner. Topics to be covered may range from the benefits of digital architectural photography, tips on getting the most out of our online stock library or the challenges of being a location photographer to restraurant reviews from across the country, the hazards of rowing in gator infested waters and musings on the weather. As always, any feedback you can offer us regarding the blog, or any aspect of our website, would be greatly appreciated. We hope that this new content becomes a great interactive marketing tool for all of us.
02.09.09 - Down But Not Out
It seems like everywhere you look these days you can see the impact of this economic recession. Demand for goods and services is dropping rapidly as people, unsure of the future, are holding tightly onto what money they still have. Businesses in nearly every industry across the board are being forced to trim their workforce and budgets in order to survive. Despite the "doom and gloom" news delivered to us constantly through the media, things are not all bad. Granted, being an architectural photographer in 2009 is looking to be slower than in years past, but for us, in some ways, the slowdown is a blessing. Even though Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and winter is still at least six more weeks from over, we are surviving the slow season and treating our cabin fever with a good dose of "spring cleaning". The last several years here at Roger Wade Studio have been a real whirlwind of activity, and although growth and prosperity is something we certainly strive for, having this down time has enabled us to tie up loose ends, focus on new projects and strengthen the close working relationship we have with our clients.
Recent viewers of our website may have noticed a change in the opening architectural photos and interior design photos on our homepage and in our portfolio. It has been a while since our last update, but rotating our website's opening sequence and refreshing our architectural images is something we will be doing on a regular basis. This not only keeps our site interesting, but it also provides a way to showcase the wonderful work of our clients. We are actively marketing our clients' projects to publishers and agencies across the United States and Canada through our website, email promos, direct mailings and old fashioned phone calls. We not only provide our clients with the highest quality architectural and interior design photography around, we take it a step further than most architecture photographers. Long after the photography has been taken, we continue to work on behalf of our clients. Making sure their work is represented in both national and regional publications is a top priority. We are continually submitting our images for magazines, periodicals and books as editorial stock photography. If you have some ideas for us in terms of submitting your projects, please let us know. We enjoy brainstorming with our clients and pursuing new opportunities for getting their projects "out there" in front of the public eye.
04.09.08 - Date Searching
Have you ever wondered if there's a simple way to see the architectural stock photography we've recently added to our online stock image library? Well friends, there is. Just click this link to view all photographs added within the last 30 days. To adjust the number of days that searchLynx searches, all you have to do is modify the search url slightly. Within the url, locate the part that reads qd&30. Simply change the number 30 to however many days back you would like to search and searchLynx will show which photos have been added since that date. Please note, however, that searchLynx will only return a maximum of 2,000 results if more records are found.
03.26.08 - 15,000 Images and Counting
It has been a while since we last posted the number of images we have in our online stock database, but you better believe we have not stopped adding new architecture and interior design stock photography. Between uploading the many new projects Roger has shot recently and combing our archives for killer architectural design photographs we have been very busy. To date, there are over 15,000 online stock photos.
